For Parents
As parents, you want to be certain that your child’s sight is developing normally, or be alerted to a possible problem in time for effective treatment. While most children have no visual problems, it is still important to check and reassuring to know that your child has good vision.
This app has been designed by eye doctors to enable anyone to check their child’s eyesight at the earliest possible age using the same accurate testing procedures that we use.
US and UK approved letters are used for testing older children and adults and the Kay Picture Test measures vision just as accurately in younger children. Both tests are fully validated for accuracy and have many years of clinical use.
ISight test is simple and quick to perform as soon as your child is talking and naming everyday objects. At the end of testing the results are shown as a visual acuity (vision) measurement and this information is interpreted for you with advice.
Parents of children who are having treatment for amblyopia (lazy eye) or have just been given new glasses can now use iSight test to record and monitor your child’s vision during treatment, between hospital visits.
Also, some children don’t respond well in a clinical environment and their vision assessment may be delayed for several months. With iSight test you can practice the test with your child at home in familiar surroundings where children are most likely to perform at their best.
